Flagship Store Six designers including myself were put into a group and told to design several different ventures for our clients Docomo. The clients needed us to design a kiosk stand, a retail store and a flagship store. The existing buildings for the retail store and the flagship store had to be redesigned to accommodate for Docomo staff and customers. The retail store was located in Wolverhampton town centre and the flagship store was located on Birmingham New Street. All three proposals had the same colour schemes and similar design patterns. However, the most impressive of the three ventures was the Birmingham flagship store.

The store featured two floors and along with a mezzanine level, with a circular glass lift and multiple staircases throughout the structure to get to the different floors. The building also featured a Japanese style sushi bar on the basement level, a VR station on the ground floor and a giant screen and seating area designed for large talks located at the rear of the building which can be seen from all three levels. Promotional items were also placed throughout the building along with three consultation booths which closely resembled our Kiosk design.

For the kiosk design, we selected specific colour tones and material choices to construct the design. The design was inspired by the idea of traffic flow. The main part of the stand was a VR station, allowing one person at a time to enter and use the VR system. This stand also contained storage cupboards for products and staff equipment. The other half of the stand acted as seating and as a charging station for peoples phones.

The same style and colour choices then continued in the design of the retail store. The store also contained a VR station with curved seating, a red living wall, consulting areas and testing tables. The shaping of these walls were designed to allow easy navigation of the store. The store also integrated QR codes onto the products.
